Color Coding System
Talk2sync uses a color-based system to visually represent the state of your data. Understanding these colors is essential for quickly identifying what actions need to be taken on each piece of information.
Color States
Black / Gray / White
These neutral colors indicate data that is already synchronized with the external platform.
Meaning: The data exists in the external platform and is considered "live" information that Talk2sync has already acknowledged and confirmed.
Examples:
- Product listings that are already published on your marketplace
- Orders already received and processed
- Information that matches between Talk2sync and the external platform
- Historical data that is no longer changing
Action Required: None - this data is in sync
Green
Green indicates data that is new and pending creation.
Meaning: This piece of data does not yet exist on the external platform and needs to be added (INSERT operation). It's ready to be sent but hasn't been created on the external platform yet.
Examples:
- New products ready to be published
- Complete products waiting for first upload
- New orders ready to be sent
- New variants, shipments, or images pending creation
- New customer information to be added
Action Required: Send Updates - Click the "Send Updates" button to create this data on the external platform
Yellow
Yellow indicates data that is pending an update.
Meaning: The data exists on the external platform, but the current information in Talk2sync differs from what's on the external platform. This is a modification that needs to be synced (UPDATE operation).
Examples:
- Product prices that have changed
- Inventory quantities that need updating
- Order statuses that have been modified
- Product descriptions or titles that changed
- Shipping information that needs updating
- Any field value that differs from the external platform
Action Required: Send Updates - Click the "Send Updates" button to update this data on the external platform
Red
Red is rarely seen but indicates data that is pending deletion.
Meaning: This piece of data is programmed to be deleted from the external platform (DELETE operation). Red items are marked for removal.
Examples:
- Images scheduled for removal from a product
- Products marked for deletion
- Variations or options being discontinued
- Data flagged for cleanup or removal
Action Required: Send Updates - Click the "Send Updates" button to delete this data from the external platform
Quick Reference Chart
| Color | State | Meaning | Action |
|---|---|---|---|
| Black/Gray/White | In Sync | Already exists on external platform | None - Keep as is |
| Green | Pending Create | New data to be added | Send Updates (INSERT) |
| Yellow | Pending Update | Existing data to be modified | Send Updates (UPDATE) |
| Red | Pending Delete | Data to be removed | Send Updates (DELETE) |
How to Use Color Coding
Identifying What Needs Attention
- Look at the color of any data element in Talk2sync
- Green = New - Something to add
- Yellow = Changed - Something to update
- Red = Removal - Something to delete
- Black/Gray/White = Synced - No action needed
Taking Action
To sync colored (pending) data:
- Review the changes by hovering over or clicking the item
- Click the "Send Updates" button on your connection
- Talk2sync will execute the appropriate operation (INSERT, UPDATE, or DELETE)
- Once sent successfully, the color will change to black/gray/white
Before and After
Before Sync:
- Green products = Not yet on marketplace
- Yellow inventory = Different quantities than marketplace
- Red images = Scheduled for removal
After Sync:
- All become black/gray/white = Now in sync with marketplace
Batch Operations and Colors
When you perform bulk operations:
- Bulk Import - All new items appear green
- Bulk Edit - All changed items turn yellow
- Bulk Delete - All items to remove turn red
Review all colored items carefully before sending updates to avoid unintended changes.
Color Coding and Troubleshooting
Why is everything green?
- First time syncing with this platform
- Recently configured this connection
- All products/orders are new to this platform
Why is everything yellow?
- Major changes were made to your products/orders
- Field mappings were recently updated
- Currency or pricing settings changed
- Data structure was modified
Why do I see red items?
- Check if this was intentional
- Red items will be deleted when you send updates
- Review carefully before clicking "Send Updates"
Best Practices
✓ Do:
- Review colors before sending updates
- Send updates regularly to keep data in sync
- Use colors to quickly identify what changed
- Monitor colored items to ensure accuracy
✗ Don't:
- Send updates without checking colors
- Ignore yellow items for long periods
- Delete red items without verification
- Assume all green items are correct without review
