Special and Extra Fields
Platform-Dependent
Also known as Specifics, platform-dependent special fields contain information required by a particular platform that cannot necessarily be represented as universal fields.
Each platform may require additional information based on the features and functionality it provides. These values may not have a directly compatible equivalent across different platforms.
Examples include:
- Category relationships
- Shipping configurations
- Publishing or visibility status
- Locations
- Other platform-specific attributes
Specifics
Talk2Sync stores this type of platform-dependent information separately and refers to it as Specifics.
Specifics are not necessarily synchronizable fields. In some cases, they can be used through cross-platform mappings to infer or derive a value for another connection.
This distinction allows Talk2Sync to support platform-specific functionality without treating every platform-dependent attribute as a universal synchronization field.
Where Specifics Are Displayed
When the connected platform supports specific fields, Specifics are displayed in the middle section of the connection page.
If the platform does not support specific fields, the Specifics section is simply not displayed.
Note: The availability and content of Specifics depend on the capabilities and requirements of the connected platform.
Next Steps
- Review the Specifics available for your connected platform.
- Use cross-platform mappings when a platform-specific value needs to contribute to another connection.
- Treat universal fields and platform-dependent Specifics as separate synchronization concepts.
