Link / Unlink Products

Talk2Sync allows you to link products that represent the same logical entity across different connections. Products can be linked automatically in batches or manually when a specific relationship needs to be established.

Linking Products

There are two ways to link products.

1. Batch Merge

Click the batch merge button to launch an analysis of the loaded product catalog.

Talk2Sync analyzes different matching patterns, such as:

  • Images
  • Titles
  • Models
  • SKUs
  • Part numbers
  • Other product attributes that may indicate that products from different platforms represent the same entity

Once the analysis is complete, Talk2Sync displays the detected matches grouped according to the different matching patterns.

You can then select only the matching criteria you trust. For example, you can select only products whose barcodes match exactly, leaving other detected patterns unselected. This allows you to link only products with a one-to-one barcode match.

Depending on the data and use case, other matching patterns may also be useful.

2. Manual Linking

To manually link a product, hover over the product in the product search and click the purple cross reference tab on the right.

This activates product-linking mode. Talk2Sync then waits for you to select another product from the catalog to establish the relationship.

Once linking mode is active, the purple tab is replaced by a green with this tab when hovering over other products.

Clicking with this opens a modal window with a preview of how the consolidated product will look, including its grouped equivalences.

Click consolidate to complete the operation.

After consolidation:

  • The application returns to the original state, allowing you to link additional products.
  • Talk2Sync displays a product-update notification.
  • The unified product can be found in the Products section.

Unlinking Products

There are two ways to unlink a product equivalence.

1. Batch Unlink

Click batch updates and add an operation of type unlink.

Talk2Sync will ask you to specify:

  • The connection whose equivalence should be unlinked.
  • The set of products on which the operation should be performed.

If the product set is left empty, the operation applies to the entire universe of products available in Talk2Sync.

If one or more lists are specified in the search box, the operation is restricted to the products belonging to those selected sets.

2. Manual Unlink

Open the product detail page.

At the bottom-right of each equivalence tab, you will find an unlink button. Clicking it removes the selected equivalence from the product.

Next Steps

  • Review Product Equivalences to understand how linked product representations are structured.
  • See Product Search to learn how to work with product sets and filters.
  • Review Product Fields to understand the standardized product information managed by Talk2Sync.
